In 2025, Seville will also host the 8th edition of the 5G Forum (May 12-16), as well as the 1st edition of New Space & Solutions (March 17-21), also organized by Medina Media Events
The 10th edition of the 4K HDR Summit, “Where technology and content have time to talk”, will bring together a total of 18 countries: 10 from Europe (Spain, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands, Andorra and Portugal); 4 from America (United States, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina) and 4 from Asia (China, Japan, India and South Korea) from November 11 to 14 in Seville, in an annual summit that will turn the capital of Andalusia into the epicenter of the international audiovisual industry, with a total of 62 international experts, during two face-to-face days (Monday 11 and Tuesday 12) in the Cartuja Auditorium and two virtual ones (days 13 and 14).
This tenth anniversary of the 4K HDR Summit will focus on the application of AI in Audiovisual, on how the Paris 2024 Olympic Games have been produced and broadcasted worldwide, on the UHD map of Spain in 2025; on the leadership of RTVE as the first broadcaster in the world that regularly broadcasts the programming of its main TV channel in Ultra High Definition in DTT or the global importance of China in 8K, will be the main topics.
The Cartuja Science and Technology Park (PCT) will host for the first time this event in which leading companies, institutions, associations and personalities of the global audiovisual industry will discuss the present, future and applications of the most advanced technology (UHD/4K, HDR, 8K). Already in 2025, PCT Cartuja will also host the 8th edition of the 5G Forum, as well as the 1st edition of New Space & Solutions, the first space industry event to be held in Seville -headquarters of the Spanish Space Agency-.
“These events are a unique opportunity to establish connections that will mark the future of each sector,” said Antonio Villegas, general director of the Seville City Council during the informative breakfast organized by Medina Media Events.
Luis Pérez, General Manager of the Cartuja Science and Technology Park, stressed that the PCT Cartuja “is the ideal space where everything comes together to be a technological reference” that brings together 600 companies that invest in R&D with a joint economic activity reached 4,850 million euros in 2022. “We have a cultural heritage such as the EXPO that we now want to take advantage of to host this type of events that are a privilege for us,” he added.
Not miss the appointment of the 4K HDR Summit RTVA, “host television that accompanies since its first edition to this global summit,” in the words of Juande Mellado, Director General of Canal Sur Radio and Television, who stressed the enormous importance of business level ‘networking’ offered by such events as the 4K HDR Summit in whose tenth edition will be present all the technical directors of FORTA (Federation of Radio and Television Autonomous).
Another major novelty of the 4K HDR Summit will be the presence for the first time of China, which will participate in this summit through the UHD World Association (UWA), represented by Liqiang Zhao, Global Content Partnership at HUAWEI; and the Sichuan UHD Video Alliance (SUVA), represented by Cao Ju, Executive Secretary General of the association.
This tenth edition of the 4K HDR Summit coincides with the 21st edition of the Seville European Film Festival, whose director, Manuel Cristóbal, has invited everyone to attend to enjoy the numerous reproductions that will take place in the Cartuja Center, in the heart of the PCT Cartuja and a few meters from the Cartuja Auditorium. “We have more than 250 guests including Johnny Depp and Jeremy Irons,” he said.
First edition of New Space & Solutions
PCT Cartuja will also host the first edition of the ‘New Space & Solutions’, “Where industry comes together to provide solutions”, which will be held from March 17 to 21, 2025 with an international meeting where the space and satellite industry come together to provide solutions to citizens, give visibility to women in the aerospace industry and teach what the University does in this field.
Seville, headquarters of the Spanish Space Agency (ESA), will become the space capital for a week. José María Pérez, Head of the National Programs Department of the Spanish Space Agency (ESA), has highlighted the “common objective of having a space pole in Seville”, a reality that is getting closer thanks to the fact that the Andalusian capital has become the headquarters of the ESA and because Andalusia can be proud of being “a reference in the aerospace industry”.
For her part, Lorena Garrido, Deputy Minister of University, Research and Innovation, said that New Space & Solutions “will be enriched by the development of this industry in Andalusia”, in which “the field of knowledge and the role of our universities is fundamental” in a sector that had a turnover of 2,743 million euros in Andalusia in 2023, up 16.4%, and generated 14,440 direct jobs.
Eighth edition of the 5G Forum
The 5G Forum, “Where technology leaders meet”, will hold its eighth edition from May 12 to 16, 2025, also at PCT Cartuja, the technology park with the highest turnover in Spain. A date that is not chosen at random, as every year it is held 100 days after the MWC in Barcelona with the spirit of summarizing the essence of the most innovative proposals. Consolidated as a prestigious event on 5G and the future 6G in Spain, it attracts since 2018 companies, projects, researchers, universities and professionals from all over Spain, Europe, America and Asia.
Raúl Maldonado, President of Círculo de Empresarios de Cartuja and Territorial Director of Institutional Relations of MasOrange in Andalusia and Extremadura, has highlighted the importance of “having world leaders from such diverse fields so close” with the organization of “this type of events that are not easy”. “Having an event like this at the telecommunications level is worthy of gratitude”, he said about the 5G Forum, an event that allows an open and independent approach to the national, regional and local Public Administration with the private sector and in 2025 will again have a day specially dedicated to the novelties of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity.
With this commitment to the celebration of high-level events in the PCT Cartuja, Medina Media Events places Seville and Andalusia in a place of privilege. “Representatives of different industries such as audiovisual, telecommunications and aerospace are our industrial flags in sectors in which its growth is exponential and unlimited,” said Lorena Garrido, Deputy Minister of University, Research and Innovation, who stressed that “these events put our land in the spotlight worldwide”.
