This process has been marked by several important stages, which have led to the modernization of the television infrastructure and the improvement of the viewer experience through DVB-T2 transmission technology.
Quality leap thanks to DVB-T2 standard
DVB-T2 is a more modern version of the terrestrial video transmission standard currently in use, which will offer a higher data throughput for better resolution, more audio channels per channel or higher frame rate per second.
The 4K HDR Summit is on the agenda of the Ministry, which plans to send the Secretary General of Telecommunications, Matias Gonzalez, and the technician Julia Criado, advisory member of the General Secretariat.
Julia Criado will be in charge of explaining the constant work being carried out by the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Civil Service in the technological evolution of DTT once completed in Spain the cessation of Standard Definition (SD) broadcasts in February this year and that all digital terrestrial television broadcasts in Spain are already in High Definition (HD).

Julia Criado advances that our country “is working in line with the initiatives being carried out in the European Union” and in line with the “results of the World Radiocommunication Conference 2023”.
