- The Explorers has among its objectives the recording of Africa in 8K. Its CEO, Olivier Chiabodo, will participate in the 4K HDR Summit.
- Karlos Simón, CEO of Karlos Simón Viajes y Expediciones, who has won an award for his documentary “The Four Kings, the Halmahera Sea Sanctuary”, will also be present.
The ninth edition of the 4K HDR Summit to be held from 13 to 16 November, in a hybrid format (two days in person at the Digital Content Hub in Malaga, and two days virtual), will share with all attendees the best 4K and 8K content produced by Travelxp, The Explorers and Karlos Simón Viajes y Expediciones, which will be some of the participating companies presenting this type of content on the marine world and the African continent in 8K quality.
Prashant Chotani, CEO of Travelxp will repeat his participation at the 4K HDR Summit. At the last edition he showed the progress that 4K has meant for his company. “4K is very important for producers or for any station or programme. I want to show people what 4K can do for you if you invest at the right time. Maybe they can look at 8K as an early opportunity and turn it into a success story.”
Travelxp was a pioneer in the 4K HDR ecosystem. It enables its viewers to enjoy more than 1000 hours of 4K HDR content in over sixty countries, reaching more than 200 million homes.
On the other hand, Olivier Chiabodo, founder and CEO of The Explorers, will be another of those repeating his participation in this ninth edition. Proof that 8K is becoming more and more present is the project he has already advanced at the 4K HDR Summit 2022. “We are immersed in recording Africa in 8K. We have reached an agreement with the African Union and for the next five years we will be recording all 55 African countries. We will be recording the whole continent in 8K”.
For Chiabodo, 8K content is the future. “I think 8K in 5 to 10 years will be the high-end format. I always prefer 8K because it is the best quality today.
The Four Kings, the Halmahera Sea Sanctuary
Karlos Simón, founder and CEO of Karlos Simón Viajes y Expediciones will be another of the protagonists with his documentary ‘The Four Kings, the Halmahera Sea Sanctuary’, which has received the prestigious REAL SOCIEDAD FUNDAZIOA Award and the S.M.Y ONDINA Award, with the golden flag for the best documentary of the festival.
Filmed in Indonesia, this documentary immerses us in a unique and remote marine world, revealing the beauty and diversity of Raja Ampat. Through dazzling images, ‘The Four Kings’ opens the doors to this paradise, with its breathtaking landscapes, majestic cliffs, crystal clear lagoons and white sandy beaches, as well as the amazing marine ecosystem that inhabits the reefs of Raja Ampat, with more than 1600 different species of fish.
