- Jorge Notarianni, Vice President of Production in Latin America and Technical Service of The Walt Disney Company Latin America, will speak about the way in which technology plays a key role in making quality productions.
The Walt Disney Company Latin America will show at the eighth edition of the 4K HDR Summit in Malaga how technology plays a fundamental and essential role in carrying out the productions that are currently underway in their distribution channels.
Jorge Notarianni, Vice President of Production and Technical Service of The Walt Disney Company Latin America, will be one of the speakers present at the most important event on 4K and 8K, and will delve into the way in which Disney produces quality content, in the framework of its commitment to Latin American production.
The market, “in permanent change”, according to Jorge Notarianni
As Notarianni states, “the market is constantly changing”. One of the aspects to take into account is that the device on which we usually see the content has changed. Technology never ceases to innovate and proof of this is the improvement that has occurred in everything related to cameras and their lenses. “We have more control over them and more pixels captured, 4K, 8K…”, highlights Jorge Notarianni.
The Walt Disney Company Latin America has a series of keys when deciding where to pay attention when it comes to making a product. The first one is the number of pixels with which the recording will be made. If it is decided that this is in 8K, it has to be taken into account, depending on the target audience to which it is directed, if the device on which the visualization is going to be made can support it. According to Notarianni: “We are human. We have a limitation when it comes to seeing the differences. We can use 4K or 8K, but we must take into account whether the user is going to see it in the cinema (where the difference can be noticed) or on their mobile phone”.
Jorge Notarianni also highlights another very important aspect. And it is that when recording in HDR, the quality of the camera is not only important. For the final product to be perfect, light is very important. “The more light quality there is, the more detail in the image the user will capture. Although post-production work is very important, not everything can be fixed with it. Therefore, it is essential to provide the highest quality in each process to guarantee the user that the final product is the best”.
Jorge Notarianni has been working with the world of entertainment for more than 40 years and for the future, he considers it key to define the product he wants to obtain. “I think it is a mistake to always work in the same way. Each product has to be analyzed depending on the objective for which it is created”, advances Notarianni.
Streaming transmissions, a very important point in the present and in the future
Streaming is occupying a fundamental role today. A good example of this is the launch of platforms such as Disney + or Star +. The latter, for general entertainment and sports, is available only in Latin America and was launched on August 31, 2021. In the words of Jorge Notarianni himself: “This platform comes with the production quality of ESPN (owned by Disney) and the possibility of experiencing the contents in a personalized way”. Its proposal is quite extensive, ranging from the main world sports championships to exclusive regional and international productions.
Argentinean Jorge Notarianni is an experienced director with a proven track record of working in the entertainment industry. Expert in Broadcast Engineering, Satellite, Television, Interactive TV and Internet Protocol (IP).
